1) Alphabet Book Update: It is being published and production is in full motion as I write this post. I expect it to be available on amazon.com within a month or so! You can be sure I’ll make the official announcement within seconds of the release.
2) Jazz: The above illustration was done in conjunction with Merideth Harte Londagin for her husband Todd Londagin’s Big Band show at the world famous Birdland. I was truly honored to do this poster as I am huge jazz fan and really dig Todd’s band! Check out a larger version here on Flickr and a pic from the show!
3) Stockart: Drawing the line on stock/clipart is an issue close to my heart. Please check out the illustrationgrowers.org website for more info on the matter. The site is complete with a gallery of contemporary illustrators doing some knockout illustration to illustrate the point! Illustrators like Bill Mayer, Gary Taxali and Anita Kunz all give their personal renditions of “drawing the line”. As an illustration farmer myself I tip my hat to these illustration growers for fighting the good fight!
