This weeks topic to illustrate on
Illustration Friday is Wisdom. Above is my take on it. There are certain images that pop into my mind for certain words. With “wisdom” it’s always a owl. That may be attributed to
Mr. Dressup TV show I watched as a kid. Mr. Dressup would have a question that he needed answered and he’d walk over to a painting on the wall and ask the painting of a sleeping owl. The owls eye’s would slowly open and he would say “Toowittoowee toowittoowoo”. As a kid this completely blew my mind. A little on the scary side. Another owl that this could be attributed to maybe the classic Tootsie Pop commercial in which a inquisitive youngster asks a wise old owl “How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie center of a Tootsie Pop?”. Never seen it? Check out the storyboards
here. No 3D animation. No loud music. No “edgy” content. No buzz words. No in your face characters. Just a effective funny story.

This weeks IF submission for the topic “empty”. I have to admit the term Drac-cola is taken from my favorite TV show as a kid called Hilarious House of Frightenstein. It was a absolutely wicked show that’s just as funny today as it was back then. Check out
www.frightenstein.com for episodes if you’ve never seen Billy Van and his cast of ghouls before.
